SEAT получил три места на подиуме в Германии
По итогам двух гонок, состоявшихся в немецком Ошерслебене, SEAT продолжает удерживать лидирующие позиции в кузовном чемпионате WTCC. Успех команды SEAT благодаря трем местам на подиуме, два из которых завоевал Тарквини, а одно – Райделл, позволил ей остаться на вершине турнирной таблицы как в зачете конструкторов, так и в личном зачете гонщиков, первое место среди которых занимает сейчас Габриэле Тарквини (Gabriele Tarquini).
Тем не менее, разница между основными соперниками остается очень незначительной. Именно это предсказывали инженеры команды, зная о том, что этап в Ошерслебене будет одним из самых сложных. В зачете конструкторов BMW отстает от SEAT всего на два очка. Такой же разрыв и между Габриэле Тарквини и вторым в личном зачете Аугушту Фарфушем (Augusto Farfus). Иван Мюллер (Yvan Muller) находится на третьей позиции, потеряв несколько пунктов в результате инцидента во время первой гонки.
На протяжении первой гонки лидировал стартовавший с поул-позишн Габриэле Тарквини, за ним следовал Рикард Райделл (Rickard Rydell). Затем на первое место вырвался Энди Приоль (Andy Priaulx). Оба пилота команды SEAT смогли сохранить свои позиции до финиша, завоевав столь важные в чемпионате баллы. Несколько меньше повезло остальным членам команды: инцидент при прохождении первого поворота повлиял на результаты Хорди Жене (Jordi Gené) и Тьяго Монтейро (Tiago Monteiro), а Иван Мюллер был вынужден прекратить гонку после прохождения половины дистанции в результате столкновения с Аугушту Фарфушем.
В ходе второй гонки Габриэле Тарквини показал исключительный результат, поднявшись на своем SEAT León TDI с восьмой позиции на третью. В качестве награды за старания Тарквини вполне заслуженно получил еще одно место на подиуме и место лидера в личном зачете среди гонщиков. Великолепно провел гонку также Иван Мюллер, который смог вырваться с последних позиций в стартовой таблице на седьмое место и завоевал очки, которые вполне могут оказаться решающими в завершении сезона.
Хорди Жене оказался вне игры вскоре после начала гонки, а старт оказался неудачным для Рикарда Райделла. Тьяго Монтейро провел гонку в целом неплохо, но на последнем круге допустил столкновение с другим автомобилем.
Успех всех гонщиков команды SEAT заслуживает особого внимания, так как изменения в техническом регламенте гонок привели к снижению максимальной скорости Leon TDI по сравнению с началом сезона.
По словам Габриэле Тарквини, показавшего сегодня наилучший в команде SEAT результат, в таких условиях борьба между основными соперниками становится особенно напряженной: «Я немного разочарован, ведь несмотря на хороший результат в квалификации и полученный поул, у меня не было возможности развить скорость, которая позволяла бы бороться с соперниками. Решение FIA привело к снижению мощности наших автомобилей, и мы не в силах что-либо сделать. Сейчас это наш уровень, и поэтому, хотя я и счастлив быть лидером, я знаю, что гонка в Имоле будет намного сложнее, чем в прошлом году».
