Chevrolet запустит автомобиль безопасности Indy 500 в серию
Компания Chevrolet намерена выпустить ограниченным тиражом гражданскую версию автомобиля безопасности, используемого в гонках «Индианаполис 500», центрального события американского первенства IndyCar Series. Пейс-кар для этих соревнований построен на базе купе Camaro SS и практически ничем, за исключением специальных проблесковых маячков, не отличается от серийной машины. Об этом сообщает издание Auto Week.
Гражданский «пейс-кар» можно будет заказать в эксклюзивном оранжевом цвете с белыми «гоночными» полосами и 20-дюймовыми колесными дисками из алюминиевого сплава. На передние двери автомобиля будут нанесены наклейки с логотипом «Индианаполис 500», на передних крыльях Chevrolet Camaro появится шильдик с аналогичным изображением, а на подголовниках сидений вышита такая же эмблема. Новинка будет оснащаться 400-сильным восьмицилиндровым бензиновым двигателем объемом 6,2 литра и шестиступенчатой автоматической коробкой передач.
Всего планируется построить 200 экземпляров гражданской версии автомобиля безопасности гонок Indy 500. Стоимость каждой такой машины составит на американском рынке 41 тысячу 950 долларов.
Отметим, что до этого момента концерн General Motors, которому принадлежит бренд Chevrolet, всего три раза выпускал реплики «пейс-каров» Indy 500 – в 1969, 1982 и 1993 годах.
